Alexander Gnoevykh<\/strong> was born on August 4, 1947 in the town of Mikhailovka, Stalingrad (Volgograd) Oblast.
In 1971 he graduated from Gubkin Moscow Petrochemical and Gas Industry Institute (present Russian State University of Oil and Gas) majoring in Technology and Comprehensive Mechanization of Oil and Gas Field Development (qualified as a mining engineer), in 1985 he finished the postgraduate school of Azizbekov Azerbaijan Petrochemical Institute, in 1987 \u2013 graduated from the Academy of National Economy under the Council of Ministers of the USSR majoring in Economics, Management and National Economy Planning. Alexander Gnoevykh is a Doctor of Engineering (2000), Corresponding Member of the International Informatization Academy (1994), Active Member of the Academy of Mining Sciences (1995). He specializes in the construction of gas, gas condensate and oil wells.
Alexander Gnoevykh started his labor activity in 1965 as an assistant driller at the Medveditsky Exploratory Drilling Office of the Nizhnevolzhskneft Production Association under the USSR Oil Industry Ministry. Upon graduation from the Institute, he resumed his service as a driller, senior engineer, drilling foreman, shift supervisor, head of the regional engineering-technological service and chief process engineer at the Zhirnovsk Drilling Directorate of the Nizhnevolzhskneft Production Association. From 1976 he was Chief Engineer and later on \u2013 Head of the Kamyshin Drilling Directorate. Upon graduation from the Academy of National Economy, Alexander Gnoevykh served as Deputy Head of the Main Drilling Technology Directorate under the USSR Oil Industry Ministry. In 1990 he was appointed Head of the Main Directorate for supervision over operational safety in the oil and gas industries under the USSR Gospromatomnadzor. Since 1993 he has been in charge of the Directorate for Gas and Gas Condensate Well Drilling of Gazprom.
Alexander Gnoevykh was directly engaged in advancing highly efficient technologies for the Tengizskoye (Kazakhstan), Umetovskoye and Korobkovskoye (Nizhnevolzhskneft) oil fields development, as well as the Yamsoveyskoye, Zapadno-Tarkosalinskoye, Zapolyarnoye, Bovanenkovskoye gas condensate fields and the Achimov deposits of Western Siberia.
He was elected Deputy of the Kamyshin City Council of People\u2019s Deputies (1985-1986).
Author of 28 inventions, more than 100 research papers including four monographs.
Winner of the Academician Gubkin Prize (1989) and the Gazprom Science and Technology Prize.
