Gladkov<\/strong> was born on September 20, 1937 in Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod) in the employees\u2019 family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1956 he graduated from Kuntsevskaya secondary school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 1956 to 1962 \u2013 a student of the Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School (MHTS), currently \u2013 the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 1962 to 1964 \u2013 an assistant, Electrical Engineering Department, MHTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 1964 to 1967 \u2013 a postgraduate student, Welding Department, MHTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1967 Eduard Gladkov defended his PhD thesis and according to the Resolution of the USSR Higher Attestation Commission earned a PhD degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1968 pursuant to the Resolution of the USSR Higher Attestation Commission he earned a title of Associate Professor, Welding Department, MHTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1977 Eduard Gladkov defended a Doctorate thesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1978 according to the Resolution of the USSR Higher Attestation Commission he earned a Doctor of Engineering degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1980 in compliance with the Resolution of the USSR Higher Attestation Commission he became Professor, Welding Department, MHTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1980 he has been working as Professor, Machinery and Welding Processes Automation Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1986 for a series of works on pipe welding automation at pipe plants he was awarded the honorary degree of the Laureate of the USSR State Sci-Tech Prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1998 he was awarded the Sci-Tech Prize of the Russian Federation Government for a series of works on development and application of high-performance welding technologies and equipment for important facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2002 the General Meeting of the Russian Engineering Academy (REA) elected Eduard Gladkov as Full Member of the Academy (Academician of REA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2005 he was awarded the First Prize of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University for the best R&amp;D work of 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2007 according to the Russian Federation President Order he was awarded the Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation degree for his scientific merits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2008 in pursuance of the Russian Federation Government Directive he was awarded the Sci-Tech Prize of the Russian Federation Government for a series of works on development and implementation of next-generation vacuum welding equipment and technologies to improve the quality of gas-turbine engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1995 and up to date \u2013 Member of Scientific Coordination Council for Automation of Welding Processes and Power Sources, Paton Electric Welding Institute;
