А.И. Гриценко — однин из создателей научных основ разработки крупнейших месторождений природного газа Западной Сибири. Он руководил проектированием их обустройства и разработки. Предложенные им и его коллегами принципиально новые технико-технологические решения по освоению уникальных залежей сеноманского комплекса Уренгойского, Медвежьего, Заполярного, Ямбургского и других месторождений обеспечили беспрецедентные темпы увеличения добычи газа в нашей стране. С именем Александра Ивановича связано освоение Оренбургского и Астраханского газодобывающих комплексов. А.И. Гриценко принимал непосредственное участие в создании и развитии Единой системы газоснабжения СССР, проектировании газопровода «Голубой поток». В 1977 г. назначен директором ООО «Газпром ВНИИГАЗ» и до 2000 г. руководил этим крупным научно-исследовательским институтом. В 2004 году по инициативе А.И. Гриценко и с его участием как автора была создана первая Российская газовая энциклопедия. Александр Иванович является автором более 300 научных трудов, включая 40 монографий, 75 изобретений и патентов. За годы научно-педагогической деятельности подготовил 30 кандидатов и 6 докторов наук. Действительный член РАЕН (1991) и АГН (1993), член-корреспондент РАН (1991). Александр Иванович — лауреат Государственной премии СССР в области науки и техники за разработку и внедрение прогрессивных научно-технических решений, обеспечивающих ускоренное освоение Уренгойского месторождения, лауреат Государственной премии РФ в области науки итехники за разработку комплекса научно-технических решений, обеспечивающих надежность добычи природного газа при энергосберегающих технологиях и повышении газо- и конденсатоотдачи недр; заслуженный деятель науки и техники РФ, трижды лауреат премии имени академика И.М. Губкина (1975, 1981, 1991). Труд А.И. Гриценко отмечен орденами Знак Почета и «За заслуги перед Отечеством» IV степени, медалями «За доблестный труд. В ознаменование 100 летия со дня рождения В.И. Ленина», «За трудовое отличие». А.И. Гриценко удостоен золотой медали РАН им. Л.С. Лейбензона — за серию работ «Научные основы технологических процессов при разработке и эксплуатации газовых и газоконденсатных месторождений».
Alexander Gritsenko is one of the founders of the scientific basis for the development of the largest natural gas fields in Western Siberia. He was in charge for the design engineering of their exploration and development. Alexander Gritsenko together with his team proposed the fundamentally new engineering and technological solutions for the development of the unique Cenomanian deposits of the Urengoyskoye, Medvezhye, Zapolyarnoye, Yamburgskoye and other fields, so that ensured an unprecedented increase in gas production rate in our country. Alexander Ivanovich was also engaged in the development of the Orenburgskoye and Astrakhanskoye gas production complexes. He was closely involved in the construction and forward development of the Unified Gas Supply System of the USSR and engineering design of the Blue Stream gas pipeline. He was appointed director of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC in 1977 and headed this large scientific research institute until 2000. In 2004, Alexander Gritsenko initiated an issuance of the first Russian Gas Encyclopedia and contributed in it as the author. Alexander Ivanovich is the author of over 300 scientific papers, including 40 monographs, 75 inventions and patents. Over the years of scientific and pedagogical activity, he was academic advisor and scientific tutor for 30 candidates and 6 doctors of sciences. He is full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1991) and the Academy of Mining Sciences (1993), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1991). Alexander Gritsenko is laureate of the USSR State Prize in science and technology for the development and implementation of advanced scientific and technical solutions that ensured the accelerated development of the Urengoyskoye field; laureate of the Russian Federation State Prize in science and technology for the development of a set of scientific and engineering solutions ensuring the reliable natural gas production at energy-saving technologies and boosting gas and condensate recovery rate. Honored Scientist and Engineer of the Russian Federation; he was awarded Academician I.M. Gubkin Prize three times (1975, 1981, 1991). Alexander Gritsenko’s merit was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and Order for Services to the Fatherland IV degree, Medal for Valorous Labour. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin, Medal for Labor Distinguished Service. A.I. Gritsenko got L.S. Leibenzon Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Science for a series of research publications «Scientific foundations of technological processes in the development and operation of gas and gas condensate fields.»
